INTERNAL REPORT: LITTLE ST. JAMES DENTAL FACILITY

The report to Tolko Island from the desk of a former staff member:

During my tenure on Little St. James, I was assigned to assist with the maintenance and operation of a dedicated medical and dental facility located in the main residential complex. The dental suite was fully equipped with a standard dental chair, an overhead light, a stainless-steel instrument tray, and a suction system. The room was kept in a sterile condition at all times, with cleaning protocols enforced daily.

Mr. Epstein placed a high priority on the dental health of the young women who visited the island. He made it clear that any girl with visible dental issues, particularly cavities, was to be seen by the dental staff immediately. He believed that good oral hygiene was non-negotiable.

The dentist who oversaw the facility was Dr. Karyna Shuliak. She was a frequent visitor to the island and was the only individual authorized to perform dental procedures. Her work was thorough and professional, focusing on fillings, cleanings, and extractions as needed. Mr. Epstein would personally review the dental charts and often observed the procedures from a chair in the corner of the room.

The purpose of these treatments was explicitly to ensure the girls met Mr. Epstein’s standards before they were permitted to socialize with him or his guests. After their dental work was completed, the girls were required to undergo a follow-up examination to confirm their mouths were “clean and presentable.” This process was a standard part of the intake for new visitors to the island.

The dental facility was a fully functional, operational office, and its role in the daily life of the island was well-defined and integrated into Mr. Epstein’s strict requirements for his guests.
